Join us for our upcoming book club, continuing for the next five weeks as we delve into "Ganesha Goes to Lunch" by Kamala Kapur, with a focus on: The Ramayana and Mahabharata. These ancient Indian epics, known as "itihasa," are celebrated for their profound influence on Hindu philosophy and culture.
Ramayana
Tells the story of Rama, a prince who is exiled to the forest by his father. Rama's journey is filled with domestic and religious life, and the story portrays ideal characters and relationships.
Mahabharata
Tells the story of a war between two groups of cousins, the Kauravas and the Pandavas, who are fighting for the throne of Hastinapur. The story is filled with tales of valor, heroism, ambition, and chivalry.
Our gatherings will take place on Thursday evenings at 6:45 PM, starting February 13th, led by Kim Cipolla. This is a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in literature while fostering connections within our community and forming new friendships. If you can't make it to the studio, we warmly invite you to join us virtually.
As we continue our journey with Ganesha, we’ll explore his delightful culinary adventures, meeting fascinating characters and uncovering valuable life lessons along the way. Additionally, we’ll reflect on the stories behind various yoga poses (asanas), deepening our understanding of the connection between our physical practices and spiritual growth.
Whether you’re a passionate reader or simply seeking a cozy evening filled with engaging conversation and camaraderie, our book club offers a wonderful blend of literature, yoga, and community spirit. We look forward to sharing this enriching experience with you!
